Unless you are a super human, the chances of getting a sore throat are always there. The sore throat is mostly followed by pain in the throat which consequently can sometimes lead to flu or a cold and most of the time it is just annoying.

Why go for antibiotics or sugary lozenges which are easy to look for help, when Mother Nature has given us numerous natural remedies that can be twice as effective as these medications.

What is a Sore Throat?

Medically known as pharyngitis, the sore throat is only an irritation of the throat, which is followed with not chronic, but annoying pain. It can only cause difficulty in swallowing and scratchiness in the area. It is mostly the first sign before we have a cold, but the sore throat can last for maximum of 2 to 3 days!

Mostly a sore throat can be caused from a bacterial infection or some virus such as adenovirus (cold), measles, croup or also known as a whooping cough, and chickenpox.

The strep throat is the most common infections which can trigger it, while the rarest cause can be Chlamydia, gonorrhea and Corynebacterium.

Sometimes, tobacco can be the main reason for it, whether the patient is smoking, or someone next to him was smoking, sometimes pollution can be the cause or to be more specific the irritants that are all around in the air, also dry air or allergies may trigger it as well.

It seems pretty easy to catch a sore throat, but don’t worry we have equally easy ways to get rid of it, or prevent from it.

The best way to prevent from it is to stay hydrated at all times, which means to intake plenty of fluids, or if you can’t do it that way just eat some soup.

6 Natural Cures for a Sore Throat

Strain that mixture and then add the rest of the 50 ml of water and put it back to boil. Add the 1 tablespoon of the liquor too. Take one tablespoon of this remedy every half an hour, after 2 hours of the use you should start to feel a relief.

  1. Oregano Oil – To get a relief in a few hours, just mix 3 drops of the oregano oil in a glass of juice or water, do this once a day.
